Visual Arts

Art Class

At Newmarket Montessori Christian Academy, our Visual Arts Program fosters creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development in a faith-based environment. Rooted in a Montessori approach, students explore a variety of artistic techniques while gaining a deeper appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation.

Through hands-on experiences in painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media, students learn fundamental artistic principles, refine their motor skills, and develop their unique artistic voice. Our program encourages exploration, critical thinking, and confidence in self-expression.

Our Visual Arts Program helps students:

  • Colours: primary/secondary, warm/cool, colour mixing, complementary colours

  • Composition and design

  • Clay work, including pinch pots and coil pots

  • Symmetry

  • Mask making

  • Paper art and three-dimensional sculptural designs

  • Painting – Watercolours, Pastels & Acrylics

By integrating faith and artistry, we encourage students to see art as a way to reflect beauty, communicate emotions, and glorify God. Whether creating personal projects, collaborative murals, or displaying artwork in school exhibitions, students gain confidence and an appreciation for the artistic process.
